Case Study: BMW Launch

Event: European launch of BMW's 2004 range
Space Used: entire venue, including beach
Number of guests: 3 groups of 300 over 1 week period


The Hotel Martinez was chosen by BMW to launch their fantastic new range in 2004. Their requirement: a prestigious hotel with a minimum of 300 rooms in a glamorous location; an exhibition space capable of displaying five vehicles, with additional breakout rooms and function space for entertaining; exceptional catering and quality of service.


Towards the end of June 2004, BMW and the Hotel Martinez welcomed 900 pan-European dealers over a 1 week period: a new group of 300 every two days. The entire hotel, conference centre and beach were used throughout the week, to maximum effect: Galuchat II, III and IV to feature 5 cars from their new range; the Beach for evening entertainment (with Acjaou I & II in reserve in case of bad weather); Les Peintres, Ebéne, Citronnier, Merisier and Palissandre used variously for breakout rooms and smaller presentations.


Working closely with the Event Organiser, the entire hotel team provided exceptional service throughout. Technical Services worked closely with the client to erect staging and arrange access for the vehicles into the central exhibition space (Galuchat II, III, IV). The Sales, Banqueting and Purchasing teams arranged decking, music and elaborate decorations to host glamorous cocktail receptions and sumptuous dinners on the beach in the evenings. The Rooms Division ensured perfect comfort for all the guests during their stay - also ensuring 300 immaculate rooms were prepared for each new group's arrival, every two days.
